Vegas-Part One
Our trip to Vegas was absolutely phenomenal. We had an incredible time. Please read my account of our trip, if you wish, but remember the reason I am writing this all out is so that I have a memory book of this all down the road. If you get bored...move on to some better sights!
Friday:
Jeanne-mare, Greg, Adam and I drove to the Milwaukee Airport together. We shared laughs and good times as we struggled to get around the airport construction. Jeanne-marie almost lost her cookies a few times. The airport was dead and we had plenty of time to check in, eat, and relax before our Southwest Flight. The flight was outstanding. We arrived early, they fed up MULTIPLE snacks on the plane and refreshments. The best flight I have had in a decade. Not to mention the flight attendant had a GREAT sense of humor!
Upon arrive, we were greeted with a sign that said, "Nicole Sayre" held up by our limo driver. That is a cool feeling. He drove us over to the Bellagio. We checked in, and ran into some family in the lobby. The Bellagio lobby is a mess of people at all hours of the day/night! It is quite gorgeous though. We went to our rooms and got settled in then Adam and I went bumming down on the strip. We walked toward Harrah's and lost $40 at the slots machines, but met up with Doug/Sandi and Bob/Gene. They were orchestrating the "Birthday Card" gag for Aunt June. We went back to the room to relax and get ready for cocktail hour that began at 5pm in Bruce's suite. Walking into his suite was like walking into another work. The view from his window was amazing, the Eifel Tower of Paris, Caesar's, the Fountains, City Center. It was pretty surreal. We visited with family for a long time. It was an excellent time! Most of us haven't seen each other in about 5 hours (maybe less), but it was so fun to catch up with everyone. The wine was flowing and so were the laughs!
We left around 9pm to head to the "Old Downtown" Las Vegas on Fremont Street. There tends to be cheaper gambling and very cheap drinks in this "old" part of town. We walked the streets, played some craps, and had a good time (Sandi had a VERY good time....I think ;)! Doug, Bob, Adam and I got on a game of craps. We did fairly well for awhile, especially when I encouraged Adam to bet the field since this woman kept rolling field numbers. We made our way back around 12:30pm and Adam and I crashed, after being made fun of by my older siblings. But the smoke and my sore throat needed a break. Maybe had I drank more.....
