Colin 5 months old

Colin is a cutey. I just adore his little face and snuggling with him. The cutest thing he does is constantly rub his nose and face into my chest. I love it!

At the 5 month mark he is unofficially about 15lbs. I have started to give him a little tiny bit of pears and oatmeal every now and again, but not too often. He absolutely still loves nursing and I love nursing him.

Lately his sleeping has been getting better (knock on wood) and only wakes 1-2 times during a 12 hour period to eat. Mommy is feeling a bit more rested.

Colin takes 2-3 naps a day depending on the length of them (3 if shorter, 2 if longer). He has a good demeanor if left without a nap and it is still kind of cute watching him pass out after being awake for 3 hours.

Colin loves kids and being entertained by them (especially Charlie). On the other hand, he hates adults and has a real "stranger danger" issue going on right now.

I looked back and read Carrie's post at this age-ish and the one thing I wrote was "joy." That she is complete and utter Joy. Well, I wouldn't use that word to describe Colin (at least not yet). I would tend to use the word "Cautiously Observant." He is always watching what is going on around him but is reluctant to allow others (other than Daddy and I) to pick him up. Hopefully this will change and some point.

We love this 3rd child immensely and feel like he is the child who completed the circle. Amen.

I am reading this great book by Shane Claiborne called "The Irresistible Revolution." The author is a Christian, but he is the type of Christian that Jesus was, not the type of Christian that we perceive ourselves to be. When he tries to live like Jesus, he really does. He is ALL about ending poverty in this nation, about feeding people, making wealth more "communal" (oh man would the Republicans HATE that!), and living like Jesus did. I certainly do not live like Jesus. I rarely communicate with the poor, the low in life's, the sick and diseased. I am not proud of myself for that. Charlie-4 years old

My first born is officially four! I can hardly believe it! What an amazing journey it has been and I thought I would share a few things about him. Height: 40.5" (54 percentile) Weight: 33 lbs (20th percentile) BMI: below the 7th percentile. So he is tall-ish and skinny...a good way to be!! Eating: He eats a fairly healthy diet. He obviously strongly desires desserts at all time. He will get through dinner, just so a dessert can occur! Ha. I think he has my sweet tooth. Right now he is in love with cashews, raisins, granola bars, and broccoli. And desserts! He often makes dinner a seemingly long battle, in which he is the only one left at the table. I am sure we will work through this behavior as well. Sleeping: No more naps, but takes 1 1/2 hours of quiet time in the basement playing by himself. He then sleeps from about 8pm until 8am.
