14 weeks pregnant

Image
Here I am at 14 weeks pregnant with baby #2. This photo was taken on June 28th, 2012. I am a lot bigger than I was with Charlie, but I haven't gained any weight...

Heat Wave

Image
The last 5 days (specifically 3 days) have been very hot here in Wisconsin. Temps in the 90's and high humidity can drain anyone's energy. Especially a pregnant momma and a 2 year old. While it is best to say that we have been "tolerating" each other these heated days, here are a few pics of some of the fun stuff that we have been up to! Throwing ball into Mommy's flowers (bring back memories Mom?) One of the better pictures of Charlie! Climbing all by myself! More climbing! An example of independent play!

2+1+1=4!!

We have exciting news in the Sayre Household! We are expecting baby #2 on December 20th, 2012! It has been a LONG and winding road for us as we started this whole process back when Charlie turned one in April of 2011. Riddled with miscarriages and a D & C and genetic testing, which came back normal, we are happy to announce that we have made it through the first trimester and hope with God's blessings to hold this one tight until the cold month of December! Adam and I had always dreamed of having kids close together. We wanted them to be friends and to be only a year or two apart in school. Apparently God had other plans for us :) Charlie and baby #2 will be 3 years apart in grades, but about 2 and 3/4 in age. We will have to make it work. We fully realize that there will be jealousy on Charlie's part (he will know what is going on as opposed to be under 2), but we will work through it just like everything else. I was going to do one of those "cute" announce...

Color Blind? or Stubborn?

Adam: Charlie what color is this M&M? Charlie: Blue Adam: No, it's green (Adam keeps the same M&M and pulls it away and let's it reappear 1 second later) Adam: Charlie, what color is this M&M? Charlie: Blue Adam: No, it's green...Charlie say "green" Charlie: "geeeennn" Adam: Good-now what color is this M&M? (the same one....) Charlie: BLUE! Adam: Ah, I give up! (Mind you, this is only the 10 second version....this whole conversation went on for at least 4 minutes)

Goals for Charlie

The past few months I have noticed that Charlie is rather lazy at times. Not in regard to his energy level (he has tons of that), but in regard to "doing" things that he can definitely do himself without the help of mommy or daddy. I realize that a lot of this comes from me being a stay-at-home mom: I cater to him sometimes too much.  I have begun to set up little "goals" for Charlie to achieve on his own. Basically, these are "goals" for mommy and daddy to know so that we don't counteract these things at different times. For May Charlie had to: -Walk up and down the stairs 100% of the time without the help of Mommy or Daddy.  -Take off his socks on his own 100% of the time and his shoes 50% of the time.  How did he do: While he "cried" for us to carry him up or whined at us, we held strong. He still occasionally does this, but he still must go up and down by himself. I don't care whether he walks on two feet or slides on...
