You are not a terrible parent!

I read this in the huffington post. It just struck home cause sometimes, as I am raising my children, by myself a lot lately, I feel as though I am not doing it right. That My children will become thugs, or criminals, or many of things because I ruined them. And then I read this, and laughed, uncontrollably. You are not a terrible parent if you can't wait for them to go to bed. You are not a terrible parent if the sound of their voices make you want to drink and never stop. You are not a terrible parent if you yell at your kids sometimes. They are like little dictators in your house. If someone else talked to you like that, they'd be put in prison. (this one struck home...anyone else???) You are not a terrible parent if you cannot figure out an appropriate consequence in real time for every act of terrorism they come up with. and then I have my own made up... You are not a terrible parent for letting them watch a little tv, so you might have enough time to nurse, and put to sle...

Our New House

Here are some pics of our new house (to be) in Verona.

Why I think 3 is a great age!

I love my 3 year old. I truly do! He can so many amazing things and is such a kind, sweet, loving boy, I almost have to pinch myself. Here are a few of his awesome attributes: 1. He always waits for everyone before he starts eating dinner. 2. He uses good manners for a 3 yr old, utensils when necessary, prayers, napkins, does not complain or bicker about food. 3. He loves riding his bike and even though he has fallen off it many times, he gets right back up and does it again. 4. Rarely has melt downs, I would say about 1-2 times a month. When he is angry or upset, he says "I am gonna take a break now" and heads to his room for some quiet time. He comes down by himself when he is back under control. We hardly EVER send him to his room, he sends himself. 5. Can do 24 piece puzzles really really well and loves doing them. He concentrates well.  6. Has begun communicating to other kids his age! 7. Loves going to his alphabet soup class at the Y and telling me what letter he learn...

5 weeks and counting...

We sold our house! Yippee! Actually, we accepted the offer the people made. I guess the sale does not officially occur until June 12. I hope that everything goes through without any major hiccups. Now, the fun part, right? House hunting...looking at 20 beautiful houses, choosing which would fit perfect, negotiating a price, etc...sounds great, huh? Well, not for us. Let me first explain that there are 5 houses total in Verona that are under $300,000. Of those 5, only 3 meet our qualificatons...we want 4 bedrooms. Exciting and fun shopping? Are you jealous? We have one other avenue we are pursuing, but I cannot explain that just yet. We are choosing Verona, because...Adam works there and withhow much we will have to pay for a house, he is gonna have to bike to work to save on gas money, we love the school district even though the taxes are double what we pay here and we want a neighborhood where Charlie can walk to elementary school. Although Madison is a great city, the schools are...
