Charlie's 16 months Old
Again, a good friend of mine puts updates of her children's development regularly on the blog. I think this is a great idea so that I will REMEMBER what happened in his life. I think I am already starting to forget a whole bunch.
Sleeping
-Goes to sleep around 8 or 8:30pm. Often wakes up between 7:30-8:00am. He talks to himself when he wakes up or clinks his "boggy" on the railing so we know he is awake.
-Takes ONE nap a day from about 1pm until 3 or 4pm (depending on the day). We transitioned him to one nap a day when he was 14 months old because he was no longer taking an afternoon nap and the morning nap was getting too long.
We are VERY blessed to have a wonderful sleeper on our hands!
Eating
-This varies from day to day. His favorite foods are: strawberries, raspberries, guacamole, veggie straws, hummus, cottage cheese, milk, juice, water.
-On certain days I can get him to eat meat, whole wheat bread, etc...but I can never be sure which days that will be!
Development
-Words: kitty, doggy, car, go, night night, bye bye, hi, more, all done, tree
-Signs: more, sleepy, stars, toothbrush, all done, bath
-Sounds: meow, woof, tweet
-Is now starting to balance stuff, when he sets a bottle on the floor, he makes sure it is balanced before he let's it go. Will give a kiss when you say "kiss."
-Physical: strong walker, but still falls at least 4 times a day, attempting to run, can climb up most slides, can climb on low chairs. Loves to dance and clap his hands anytime he hears music! Loves to throw balls and read books. But, he is picky on the books that he reads.....hmmmm
Overall Personality
He has a bit of a "spirit" in him for what he wants. When he has an idea and Mommy and Daddy don't allow it, he gets upset and cries. We combat this immediately. Tantrums have become significantly less lately. He is generally very happy and full of smiles. His stranger anxiety has become better after Mommy has been taking him to the YMCA and not caring about whether he cries when I leave or not. He hardly cries at all anymore :)
