Colin 3 years and 3 months old

I don't feel like I post much about this 3rd child. But lately Colin has become obsessed with puzzles. He can do 12 and 24 piece puzzles independently. He may not be able to speak well, but all other parts of his brain are working well! I'm proud of this cute little man!

All City Swim Meet

Image
Charlie raced in his first All City Swim Meet this week in Monona. This is an immaculately run event, like probably the most organized and efficient event that I have EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE. They manage to get 2,000 swimmers through races in 3 days. And the best part, everyone gets to participate--not just the elite swimmers. The weather was absolutely perfect.  Swimming has become Charlie's sport. He loves it so much. In fact, yesterday his dive lesson got canceled because of storms...guess who was so upset he was crying? I am excited that he is passionate about this. That being said, this fall we will "jump" (pun intended) into the world of Club Swimming. Let's be honest, Charlie isn't interested in any ball sports, so we might as well allow him one thing that he truly is passionate about.  And let's be honest...this is a lifelong sport. Fitness, fitness, fitness :) :)  100 Medley Relay Buddies-from Left-backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, f...

It's been a SUMMER

Image
To be honest, we've lived this summer up a bit! TONS of time at the pool, swim meets, outdoor BBQs, and boating. We are a bit sun kissed.  I've told my friends that I think my liver needs a detox because everyday it's like "hey, we are at the pool...wanna drink? or "hey, wanna have s'mores and drink?" How do you turn this stuff down! Anyways, here's to summer! Cheers!

Proud is not the word I'm looking for...there's so much more

This.Kid.Brings.Me.So.Much.Joy I don't think I realized how the fruits of my labor of early childhood have paid off, until this year.  Charlie is the hardest working kid I know. Today, I witnessed him work on his dive start for swim team about 50-100 times. He got it. He never gave up, he didn't complain, he did it. Beyond that, this is kid is so kind. He works hard and he is kind. What more could I ask for? I am blessed beyond belief.  All City is coming up for him this week. He will swim in front of hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people. And he will try his best and work on the skills he has been working towards. I couldn't be more proud of his effort.  After a heat win! He thinks he's still got it! Video of Charlie swimming the Breast Stroke for his Relay. Video of Adam swimming in the Parent Relay.

Nicki's Birthday #37

Another year older, another year wiser? Not sure that is accurate.  We saw Hamilton in Chicago. That was a really great show. So much fun and so well put together. We also ate at a few different places and walked a TON around Chicago.  As you can tell below we didn't have a 7 for my cake, so we just put a bunch of random numbers together. I turned 563!

UP for the 4th of July

Lots of fun pictures below. The pirate ship was a great time for the kids! It's fun to use their imaginations! Log slide...was a helluva climb! But we made it even with the obnoxious black flies. Thanks Papa and Grandma for the great time!
